                  A Message from our Chairperson

                  Picture
                  Hello ladies,

For the past five years a dedicated team of women from a variety of Bendigo Christian churches has put together the Promise Women’s Conference. The vision was to provide local women with the opportunity to hear quality inspirational speakers, both national and international, close to home. We have had the privilege of hearing from great speakers such as Amanda Wells, Roma Waterman, Lynn McHugh, Glenda Watson, Lisa McInnes-Smith and Nicole and Mark Conner. Sadly, late last year, the founder and past chairperson of Promise Conference Sue White, formerly Lamb  (nee Wieberle) passed away and the committee was faced with the decision to continue providing a women’s conference or letting it go.

After much prayer and a conviction that the vision which had been held by all was still God’s will for the city of Bendigo, we decided to go back to the beginning and look at every aspect of the conference to see what God would have us do.

During this process we have put down our Vision statement, our Mission statement and our Values. We have changed the venue to Abundant Life Christian Fellowship this year. We acknowledge that God is doing great things in our city and we need to get behind those who are doing Kingdom work. Friday evening has therefore been set aside so that we can hear how God is working through local women to bring hope to those who are suffering. This year we have invited Tracey Wolsley from Our Place to share with us the work she has been doing to aid the recovery of families affected by the 2009 February 7 fires and the recent floods in our region.  We wish to sow back into this ministry, therefore all monies raised on Friday evening, will go to the work of Our Place.

This year's key note speakers are Helen and Allan Meyer from Careforce Lifekeys ministries. Their details are on this site and we are very excited that they are coming to Bendigo. Lifekeys has provided a variety of courses that assist both men and women to work through areas of abuse, trauma, intimacy, parenting, marriage enrichment and sexuality, in a safe environment. These courses have changed the lives of thousands world-wide and delegates attending Promise Women's Conference this year will hear a message of hope that is unforgettable.

I encourage you to book early and secure your place for Promise Women's Conference 2011. May God keep you in His care and I look forward to meeting you on October 14 and 15. See you there.

                  Alida Robinson
