Hi Ladies,
Here we are again, another year older, wiser, and in my case, I think
a bit wider!! I have been reflecting on the wonderful times we have
had over the past years since Promise Conference first commenced,
and have come to the realisation that this is our fifth conference.
I can't believe that something which started as a notion in my mind,
and built upon by our magnificent God, is still going strong 5 years on.
So, this year, we are having a big celebration, to mark our fifth birthday,
and I can't think of anyone better to come and minister this year than
Nicole Conner.
It was the inspiration of Nicole and her DARE team that
was the initial catalyst for our conference. Nicole is a wife, mother,
mother-in-law, daughter, pastor and a woman of vibrancy, passion,
humour and most importantly an amazing woman of God. Many of
you will know of the great work Nicole and her husband Mark lead in
Melbourne at CityLife Church (formerly Waverley Christian Fellowship),
and we have been trying since our first conference to get Nicole to
Bendigo to speak. I am really looking forward to having Nicole with us,
and feel sure we are in for a great ride.
Our conference has been blessed with the amazing speakers we have
previously had - Amanda Wells, Roma Waterman, Lyn McHugh,
Lisa McInnes-Smith and of course last year the amazing Glenda Watson,
and I know this year will be no different.
We are moving into the technological age, this year setting up a
Facebook fan club for Promise Conference and I encourage all you
Facebookers out there to keep checking for updates.
Also this year we will be sending our confirmation letters with entry bracelets attached,
so there will be no "bottle-neck" coming into the venue, which of course
again is Bendigo Baptist Centre.
I really appreciate Pastor Dave and the
team at Bendigo Baptists for their encouragement and support of both me
personally and the conference as a whole. Once again Joyce and her
wonderful team will be providing the refreshments, and again this year
lunch is included in the costs, along of course with all the other goodies in
between. People ask me what is it about this centre- I just tell them they
have the best catering team in town! Joyce continues to amaze me.
Our desire is to see all women rise to their full potential in God, as daughters
of the most high, and believe that God has wonderful things in store for his
girls as they submit their lives to Him and live for His Cause, to see His
kingdom come, not only in Bendigo, but the whole of Central Victoria and beyond.
May you all be blessed as you prepare for this year's conference, and I
look forward to catching up with you in October.
Lots of love
Sue
